  1. How did you get into modeling?

A scout came up to me one day and gave me her card, saying that I should get into modelling. I put her card on my desk at home and let it collect dust for a few months until eventually something inside of me told me to call her and the rest is history! After doing a few clothing brand shoots, I quickly fell in love with it.

  2. What has been your favourite modeling job to date?

I’ve modelled for so many great clothing brands, runway events, hair shows and editorial collaborations so it’s hard to say. If I had to pick one, it would be shooting for the NHL and CFL apparel stores in Calgary. It’s a pretty cool feeling when you can walk into a huge sports arena and see you face on billboards, advertisements and tickets.

  3. What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I try to stay as active as possible. I have a strict fitness regime I follow and take pride in maintaining a healthy body, mind and soul. That being said, I am no stranger to burning the midnight oil as I enjoy going out and socializing with friends over a few beverages. I also like playing golf and going to music festivals in the summer.

4. What music are you currently listening to?

I’ve always enjoyed vibing out to house music, with my favorite artists right now being Martin Garix, DVBBS and Kygo. So long as it’s not country, I can listen to about anything.

  5. What has modeling taught you about yourself?

Modelling has taught me the power of self-confidence and that you should never be afraid to be yourself. I wake up everyday, proud to be who I am and where I’ve come from. You are constantly being analyzed and judged as a model, so having self-belief and a thick skin will allow you to get through anything that comes your way.

6. How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my style to be a blend of European and street culture. I can rock a nicely fitted suit, all the way to joggers and a drop tee.

  7. What would surprise people about you?

A couple things that surprise a lot of people about me is that I served in the Canadian forces as an Officer Cadet and that ever since I was about 10 years old, I have eaten two pudding cups every night before bed.

8. Fill in the Blank: I cannot live without ______________

I cannot live without my family

9. What are some of your future goals?

In a general sense, my goal in life is to find my calling which would include something that allows me to achieve spiritual fulfillment while making a positive difference in the world. As I continue to develop, I would like to travel abroad into another market and do commercial modelling for a while.

I started modelling in 2016 when I first walked for Toronto Men’s Fashion Week. Since then I’ve walked in a few other shows and shot with multiple  photographers throughout Ontario.

2. What has been your favourite modeling job to date?

My favourite modelling job to date would be any of the runway events I’ve done, in particular my first season at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week. I love these events because of all the people you get too meet.At a shoot you normally get to meet a small team of 2-5 people, whereas, with these events you’re around large group of like-minded individuals.

3. What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I like to learn about a variety of things. I am really interested in learning about the body, as I get ready to go back to school for massage therapy. I love anything fitness related.  At my core though, I’m really just a homebody.  I enjoy the simple pleasures in life like making a home cooked meal, listening to and finding new music, binge watching Netflix or just driving down to the bluffs to feed the ducks.

4. What music are you currently listening to?

Right now I find myself listening to a few artist like Joey Badass, Stevie Wonder, Chance the Rapper, System of a Down, Anderson .paak, pendulum and Tool just to name a few.

5. What has modeling thought you about yourself?

Modelling has taught me that there are many different avenues you can take when pursuing something that you are interested in. With the technology  available through the internet, we can teach ourselves about literally any subject.

6. How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is the love child of Curt Kobian and John Lennon. I would describe it as “Grungy Hippie”.

Model Citizen: Eric Sleeth

Last month, We got to meet newly signed Ciotti Model Eric Sleeth at our 6th issue launch party. Get to know this Montreal native and new face, and find out what he could not live without.

1. How did you get into modeling?

ES: Started with my mom saying that I should for several years; but just dismissed it as moms encouraging and proud of their sons. I started posting nicer photos of myself online which got attention from a couple agencies and then I thought “ok maybe there is something here”. I freelanced for a while, and after deciding it was something I wanted to pursue, and decided to sign with an agency. I recently signed with Ciotti.

2. What has been your favourite modeling job?

ES: I’ve been lucky enough to get great opportunities in the short time I’ve been modeling. My favourite job would be Toronto Men’s Fashion Week (TOM*FW) for a few reasons. It opened up many other opportunities. I got to meet and work with wonderful people and some who I now consider to be good friends. Of course, the shows and events are a lot of fun. My mom and dad, plus a few friends were able to come watch, which doesn’t get to happen when working on photo shoots, so it was nice to have them there.

3. What do you like to do in your free time?

ES: I don’t really like to have free time. I am addicted to being busy and accomplishing things. Yes, the stress of having too much on your plate can be a lot at times, but when it gets done, it’s the best feeling. I like being busy with modelling, family, friends, university, personal projects. I just feel in a funk if I’m not accomplishing anything. That’s why I can’t sleep in passed 9 am, no matter what how late I go to bed.

4. What are you currently listening to on your iPod?

ES: Cheap seats – Dallas Smith. Probably one of my favorite country songs. Having this platinum hair you wouldn’t expect it, but I really like country music. I have a few other genres that I like but country has a authentic feel, and I associate country music to great memories and great parties.

5. How would you describe your personal style?

ES: My style will go between 3 looks. Love to put on a nice suit and look dapper as hell. Being a gentlemen is something I aim for and being able to dress well is part of that. On a regular day, I’ll either go with your guy-look, t-shirt and jeans, plaid, whatever. Just something comfortable, casual, and can get dirty. Or I go with a street style vibe that give your a little strut when your out. All of it is just confidence, those are what I am confident in, and that when I feel I look my best.

6. What would surprise people about you?

ES: Well I was born in Montreal, so speaking french is one. But I think it would be that I can live and function being on my own. It is a very important thing that I think people should learn to do. It allows you to really learn who you are as a person. I’ve traveled, vacationed alone and even gone out for dinner for one. It’s not about not having anyone to go with or being lonely, having time to yourself is always good.

7. Fill in the Blank: I cannot live without ______________

ES: I cannot live without my family. I know that may seem like a cop-out answer, but if you ask anyone in my family, they would tell you I am at my happiest when I am around my family. That is why holidays like Christmas, thanksgiving, weddings, you name it, are my favorite time because I get to spend time with them. We are all our Number 1 fans and family is a big reason for who I am today. Family will love you and support you, no matter how bad things may get (and friends can count as family too)

1. How did you get into modeling?

Mhm…I wish I could say I got scouted by a big agency and after that my career lifted off, but I am working hard to break into the industry. Its hard when you aren’t a pretty white boy, you know. The truth is I have always wanted to model and recently I discovered I have some talent for it. So, now I am doing it and its working out pretty alright. I am hoping to get signed internationally so I can start travelling which is one of the main reasons why I got into modelling.

2. What has been your favourite modeling job?

My first season at TOM* has been my favourite modelling experience so far. I got to meet so many nice people with huge hearts, and we all opened up and became family for a week. It was fun, especially walking for Just Ta Designs by Alan Ta.

I thought the outfit was very unique, the music got my heart going and and I loved walking with my model buddies and partying with them afterwards. It was a great end to my first Fashion Week.

3. What do you like to do in your free time?

I longboard in the summer, and stay in my room and paint or write in the Winter. I don’t know what else broke students are supposed to do. I work to pay for school when I am not in school, and I study when I am not at work. I go out sometimes, have a few drinks with my friends. My life…its all very exciting.

4. What are you currently listening to on your iPod?

A bunch of stuff but it all depends on my mood. I listen to Hozier when I need to go for a drive. Florence when I am feeling heartbroken. Alessia Cara, when I feel like I need to have a good cry. Beyonce, when I need to twerk and Calvin Harris’ “How deep is your love” every time I need to practice my runway walk.

5. How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is constantly evolving but I have always stuck with simple cuts and muted colours. Androgynous clothing is a style I have been leaning towards as of late but a fitted T-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans is my go-to outfit for most occasions, like grocery shopping and…picking up people at clubs.

6. If you could eat, pray, love your life, where would you go?

I would be on a plane with no idea where I am going to land. I would be eating my mom’s fish curry and praying to any God out there to not have my plan crash…Did I do this right?

7. What would surprise people about you?

I play with swords and I name them. They are actually just bamboo sticks. I can’t afford real swords. My friends make fun of me for it.

8. Fill in the Blank: I cannot live without_________
